For anyone who doesn’t know what MOvember is, it’s an annual sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

BIG BEN has kicked off “Movember” by sporting a blue moustache, leading the way for men to cultivate some facial hair in the name of charity.
A giant moustache was projected onto the landmark to highlight what has become a major effort to raise money and change attitudes towards men’s health.
Westminster was chosen as the location to kick off this year’s movement because there are suggestions around 40 MPs have signed up to grow a ‘tache.
Useless Facts About MOustaches
The word “moustache” derives from 16th century French moustache, which in turn is derived from the Italian mostaccio (14th century), dialectal mustaccio (16th century), from Medieval Latin mustacium (8th century).
John Cleese, born 27 October 1939, of Monty Python, 1969 – 1983 and Faulty Towers, 1975 – 1979 fame. Cleese impressively sports the ‘chevron moustache – thick and wide, usually covering the top of the upper lip. In 1980, Cleese won a BAFTA Television Award for his performance in Fawlty Towers.
MOvember was created by a group of friends back in 2003, but where were these chaps from?
